Last update 12 April 2024
RWS Holdings PLC and our subsidiary companies as defined in section 1159 of the UK Companies Act 2006, together or individually as applicable (RWS), respect the privacy of our visitors to, and users of, our websites.
This Notice explains RWS’s use of your personal data and of your rights.

Why and how do we collect your personal information?
RWS will collect your personal information directly through our questionnaire form to provide you with membership to the Component Content Alliance through its website and to gain access to its digital content and services as per our terms and conditions of use.
What personal information do we collect?
We will collect your name, surname, business email, country of residence, company name and main business activity.
Do we use sub-contractors?
We engage third-party sub-contractors such as AWS and Microsoft for content and data hosting services, acting only for, on behalf of, and under the instructions of RWS, and whom we require to adhere to our policies, procedures and processes and to comply with applicable data privacy laws. Such third-party sub-contractors do not have direct access to the personal data hosted.
In accordance with the California Consumer Privacy Act, RWS confirms it has not sold your personal information in the preceding twelve (12) months.
Do we transfer your personal data externally?
Where your personal data is transferred to a country which is not governed by a data protection law affording a similar or adequate level of data protection than that in force in your country of residence, or to which no adequacy decision has been issued by the relevant European Commission, RWS has taken steps to ensure an adequate level of protection of the transferred data in the country of transfer by entering into appropriate data transfer agreements such as those based on the European Standard Contractual Clauses (also known as European Model Clauses) issued by the European Commission.
How long do we retain your personal data?
We will retain your personal data for the period necessary to maintain your membership, or until you request the deletion of your personal data, whichever comes earlier.
How do we ensure your personal data is safe?
RWS will implement and maintain administrative, organisational, technical and physical security measures to ensure the confidentiality, integrity and availability of our systems that process your personal data.
